GNE came out of this game with great credit. An excellent first half saw them lead 2-0 at the break having played confident, attacking football as Ahmadi scored twice. For a spell in the second half, FC United scored twice and looked like taking the game away from the Hillmen. Glossop however weathered the storm and had chances of their own in the later stages. The shoot-out went to nine penalties each and GNE were unlucky when Latham "saved" only for the ball to spin back over the line.
Well done to the players and the management for providing such a positive display! This was a very strong FC United team who were unbeaten in six games.
