Looking for ideas of how to fundraise for the club on either a weekly or long term basis. Also looking for willing volunteers to assist with fundraising, you can give as much or as little time as you like We already have a fairly substantial list, but are always looking at other ideas. Doesn’t have to be anything complicated - look how successful the smartie tube fundraiser was. The simpler and easier to organise and run the better Please email me your ideas (away from prying eyes) to emmajbryson@hotmail.com Thanks to you all in advance for your ongoing support.

What about going into local schools and promoting the club and giving ticket deals to the children on the visit. EG 1 x Dad (or Mum) and child for £5.00 if you go into and school with over 300 children and only 10% of them took up the offer that is a extra 30 fans through the gates paying £150.00 and on top of that they will hopefully buy pies, programmes etc

what about a weekly lotto. not sure how easy it is to set up. but if you just a % signed up from people who live in the Glossop area could provide a massive income for the club. I know of one club who started this and within a month of canvassing the local area had over 500 and this increased month on month. You need to be getting out into the community and making people aware of the club. they will not come to you with the hands out giving you money. You need to be getting out into the community and making people aware of what the club can offer.

Have you considered a sportsman's evening? I know theses can cost a lot to set up. I am mates with a ex-player who charges between £3500-£4,000 a night but they can generate lots of money in return. you can also get signed merchandise at these events on a SOR basis so that is a no brainer because you cannot loose on this part of the evening.

Thanks for the ideas.
As you can see, I did ask for suggestions to be emailed to my personal email address.
I am unsure if you come to the club or not. However, there is a small pool of volunteers who are hoping to raise funds to a new level from this season onwards. All of those volunteers work full time, and give their spare time to the football club. So as for canvassing and approaching schools, this is not entirely practical.
Are you willing to give some of your time to assist us? We are looking for anyone with a vested interest to help with what will be a difficult season.
Once again, thanks for the ideas.

Just wondering who your mate is that charges that much and do they supply the signed merchandise ? No he uses a separate company to do the auctions. How it works you will be given numerous items to sell for example a signed City shirt with a reserve price of for example £150 so if the shirts sells for £300 the club keep £150 and the other money goes to the merchandise company. If you don't sell the item it just gets returned at no cost. I was at event a few months ago and the think they made short of £800 just on merchandise.

I could not give anytime. I don't live close enough and got my own business to run. I always take Saturdays off to go to a non league game.

I appreciate you and your volunteers have a life to lead and family etc. But I think if you could give one or two nights a month to do some canvassing etc it might make alot of difference. This how the club I mentioned before was operating and they shall we say bit the bullet and went out into the community and tried the weekly lotto. Which in just a few weeks generated 500 members and at £1 a go was bringing them £2000 a month minus the winnings of course. So for any non league club this is a massive revenue.
